Elvira Shirts Obituary
She was born on January 26, 1930 in Bandung, Dutch East Indies, Indonesia to Pieter and Catherina Ten Boom Bodeman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Max Shirts, her 4 sisters, Gerda Katz, Loeke VandeKruk, Hetty Schaeffer, and Patty Zwart, and 3 brothers, Paul, Wim and Max Bodeman.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she served as a missionary, genealogist, temple worker, and many other callings.
She was mother to James Wilkinson (Diane), son, Tiffany Downend, daughter, and grandmother to 4 grand children, Tess Frame, Kathryn Kempler, Ryan Wilkinson, and Lane Wilkinson, and 5 great grandsons: Henry, Fredrick, Peter, Thomas, and Bennett. From the Shirts clan, she is survived by Jack Shirts (Karen), Vickie Stringham, Kathy Fullenwider (David), Jean Phillips, Dee Shirts (Gina), Brent Shirts (Maggie), and a closet of over 100 Shirts grand and great grand children! And a host of nieces and nephews worldwide.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday October 24, 2025 at the Marmalade Ward, located at 225 W 500 N, Salt Lake City, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:30-10:40 am.
Interment will take place at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 E 1300 S, Salt Lake City, Utah
