Janet Sue Shirts, 78, of Imboden passed away Thursday, November 14, 2024 at her home.
She was born June 18, 1946 in Quincy, IL to the late Howard and Hazel Frohn Hull. Janet worked as a home health aide where she was awarded Home Health Aide of the Year for outstanding care. She also served as Pastor of Benville Church in Illinois, was involved in nursing home ministry, was President of the Mt. Sterling, IL Food Basket, was involved in the Red Hat Society, and during Covid she made and donated 1000 masks to schools and nursing homes. Janet was a member of the Imboden First Assembly of God Church.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Hazel Hull; her husband, Jerry W. Shirts; brothers, Rodney Hull, Richard Hull, and Robert Hull; sisters, Donna Haywood and Sonya Welty; and sisters-in-law, Linda Hull and Barbara Hull.
Janet is survived by her daughters, Tina Samuels, Chrisi (Brian) Slakman, Jessi (Darrell) Clark, and Bea Jai (Edwin) Vanwinkle; grandchildren, Dominique Samuels, Joshua Slakman, Jessica Slakman, Alivia Clark, Samantha Clark, Gage Vanwinkle, and Molly Vanwinkle; brothers, Ronnie (Debbie) Hull, Roger Hull, Randy Hull, Raymond (Karin) Hull, and Ross Hull; sister, Nancy (Leo) Marion; and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 10 AM at Imboden First Assembly of God Church with Dillon Ham officiating. Cremation has been chosen as the method of final disposition under direction of McNabb Funeral Home.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Tommy Hughes, Brian Slakman, Darrell Clark, and Edwin Vanwinkle.
