Ronald was born in Port Huron, Michigan on February 17, 1943, son of the late Vernon and Margaret (Smith) Shirts.
He married Sharon Marie Huckabee on November 4, 1973, in California.
Ron served his country with the United States Air Force for 6 years before his discharge in 1963.
Ron enjoyed woodworking, hand-crafting pens, being in his shop working on cars, and gardening.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sharon; his son, Shannon Ronald Wayne Shirts of Florida; grandchildren, Paytin, Cameron, Monica, Randy, Lily, Triston; great-grandson, Lincoln; sister-in-law, Kathryn Shirts; nephews, Jerry Shirts and Cooper Jackson and his special friends, Corey and Kelly Lashbrook.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry L. Shirts.
Interment has taken place at Woodland Cemetery in Port Huron Township. Arrangements were entrusted to Grace Memorial-Smith Chapel.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
