Janet Laming Obituary

She was preceded in death by Richard W. Laming, her husband of 37 years; her parents, Harvey and Gladys Doan; and a sister, Yvonne Sweet.
Janet is survived by numerous family members. Son, Mike Laming (Valerie) , and daughter, Marnie Sharpe (Chris); eight grandchildren, Malyssa Laming (David), Brittany Laming, Mike Laming Jr. (Amber), Jennifer Detkowski (Bobby), Bryan Lawry (Julianna), Joseph Lawry, Craig McPhail (Gwen), and Scott McPhail (Jessica); 13 great-grandchildren, Rhonna, Kolt, Brayden, Bryson, Matthew, Mason, McKenzie, Peyton, Abrielle, Penelope, Christa, Jon, and Rosy; two brothers, Dave Doan and Harvey Doan (Bev), and a sister, Diane Ostrander.
Janet was employed at the Colonial as head of house keeping for many years.
Janet enjoyed doing jig saw puzzles, along with gossiping with two of her closest friends, Debbie Julio and Linda Holmes. She was also a huge fan of General Hospital and day trips to the Casino.
A memorial service for Janet will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Memorial-Smith Chapel 1525 Hancock Street, Port Huron, Michigan 48060. Reverend Dr. G. Patrick Thompson will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to Health Well Foundation.
