Elvis Wayne “Sonny” Eves was born June 1st, 1943 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He was the son of Elvis Edgar Eves and Sarah Lucille (Crump) Eves. He and his family moved to Michigan when he was a young child. Elvis “Sonny” served in the Air Force as a helicopter medic during Vietnam from 1962-1966. He married the love of his life, Verlie Kay Lawson on May 20th 1965. Together, they shared 60 years of marriage. Elvis “Sonny” worked as a maintenance engineer for Clark County in Las Vegas where he later retired in 2006. After retirement, Elvis “Sonny” and Kay bought a fifth wheel and traveled the U.S. In total, they visited forty-seven of the fifty states. They lived in Florida on and off for 30 years and then moved back to Las Vegas in 2015. Elvis “Sonny” is survived by his wife Verlie Kay Eves, sister Pat Harovitz, and many many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Raymond Eves, and beloved dogs, he especially loved their Shih Tzu Sassy. Elvis “Sonny” was a reliable, honest, hard working man. He liked to joke around, was very funny, and enjoyed a good card game. Elvis “Sonny” was a true friend. He was also very passionate about caring and providing the best homelife for his very loved dogs throughout his life; especially Sassy who had a special place in his heart. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and his treasured wife, Kay.
