Dorothy R. Eves, 94, of Logansport, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025, at Mulberry Health in Mulberry, Indiana.
Born on July 19, 1931, in Terre Haute, Indiana, she was the daughter of Verne A. McGowen and Wilma Bertha (VanCleave) McGowen. On September 19, 1952, in Greencastle, Indiana, she married the love of her life, Thomas E. Eves. They shared 59 wonderful years of marriage before his passing on October 9, 2011.
Dorothy retired from G.T.E. in September of 1983 after 17 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed reading, caring for her family, and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy and happiness.
Survivors include her children, Rowena (Tom) Shepler of Logansport, Rebecca (Ted) Lowry of Indianapolis, and Roxane (Tim) Collins of Brookston. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Brian Shepler, West Lafayette; Jessica (Matt) Walter, Zionsville; Michael Shepler, Washington DC; Doug (Jess) Shepler, Logansport; Kristen (Drew) Lanier, Madison, Alabama; Zack Collins, Brookston; Stephanie (Ryan) Strong, West Lafayette; 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; her parents; and her brothers, Herbert Grant McGowen & Harry A. McGowen.
A service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on October 3, 2025, at the Main Chapel Mausoleum of Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette with Pastor Carol Weaver officiating.
