Elwood Lyle Larson
July 30, 1937 – August 8, 2025
Elwood was born, raised, and a proud life-long resident of Iowa. He was born in Storm Lake and attended school in Albert City and Newell graduating in 1955. He worked in Sac County till 1960 then worked in Humbolt and moved to Tama working for Farmers Elevator Mutual Ins. Co. till 1963 at which time he started working for Farm Credit in Traer, Newton, and Iowa Falls till 1996 taking early retirement. He started at John Deere Financial in Johnston and retired in October 2002.
Survived by (Wife) M. Irene Larson, (Daughters) Cheri (Craig) Tomlinson, Kari (Jim) Currens, Denise (Thom) Roman, (Son) Michael E. Larson (Dani), and (Grandsons) Ryan (Meg) Currens and children Jimmy, Charlie Elwood, and Johnny, Justin (Jenna) Larson, Austin (Angie), and son Wally Larson. (Stepson) Monte (Cindy) Hamilton, (Grandson) Travis (Meredith), children Eva and Madelyn and (Granddaughter) Tara (Blair) Posegate, children Rory, Gracen, Averi, and Slater. (Brother) Tom Larson and (Sister-in-law) Therese Larson and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by (Parents) Ernest L. Larson and Lea A. (Gerke) Larson, (Sister) Eileen and (Brother-in-law) Neal Ahart, (Brothers) Duane, and Delwyn, and (Sisters-in-law) Dolores Larson and Charlotte Larson.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Buckingham Cemetery.
Any memorials may be directed to the restoration of the Larson Family Pioneer Cemetery in Adams County, Iowa.
