Ema Cordova

On October 27th Ema Cordova, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend was peacefully called home to our Heavenly Father at Condell Hospital surrounded by her loving husband, all her kids and grandkids. Ema lived a life filled with love, compassion and connection.
Ema was born to Audon and Audelia Cordova in Cotiro, Michoacán on September 2nd, 1950. Throughout Ema's 56 years of marriage to Gaspar, they were blessed with building a beautiful family of 6 children. Ema is a strong fearless woman who always put her children first and has always been determined to provide them with the best life. Through this determination and love she made the courageous decision to leave her home country for a better opportunity in the United States. Once arrived, her and Gaspar settled in Round Lake where they became lifelong residents.
Ema was known for her caring heart and her devotion to her loved ones. She found joy in caring for others, always making sure those around her felt supported and loved. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and the delicious aroma of her cooking; especially her mole, one of the many ways she showed her love.
Ema is survived by her loving husband Gaspar Cordova and their 6 children. Socorro (Maria) Cordova, Javier (Bernice) Cordova, Trina (Israel) Tovar, Yadira Cordova, Veronica Cordova (Salvador), Sandra (Alberto) Solano. Grandmother to 17 grandchildren and 2 great grandkids and one little angel on the way. Ema was proceeded in death by her parents, her brother Luis and sisters Consuelo and Anita. Her granddaughter Emily and her great granddaughter Demaya.
The visitation will be held on Sunday, November 02, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Justen Funeral Home of Round Lake, located at 222 N. Rosedale Court, Round Lake, IL 60073. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 03, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, located at 114 N. Lincoln Avenue, Round Lake, IL 60073, at 9:30 a.m. Immediately following, interment will take place at Ascension Cemetery at 1920 Buckley Rd, Libertyville, IL 60048. El 27 de octubre, Ema Córdova, amada esposa, madre, hermana y amiga, fue llamada en paz a la casa de nuestro Padre Celestial en el Hospital Condell, rodeada de su esposo, sus hijos y nietos. Ema vivió una vida plena de amor, compasión y unión.
Ema nació el 2 de septiembre de 1950 en Cotiro, Michoacán, hija de Audon y Audelia Córdova. Durante sus 56 años de matrimonio con Gaspar, tuvieron la dicha de formar una hermosa familia de seis hijos. Ema fue una mujer fuerte y valiente que siempre dio prioridad a sus hijos y se esforzó por brindarles la mejor vida. Gracias a esta determinación y amor, tomó la valiente decisión de dejar su país natal en busca de mejores oportunidades en los Estados Unidos. Una vez allí, ella y Gaspar se establecieron en Round Lake, donde residieron el resto de sus vidas.
Ema era conocida por su gran corazón y su devoción a sus seres queridos. Encontraba alegría en cuidar de los demás, asegurándose siempre de que quienes la rodeaban se sintieran apoyados y queridos. Su hogar era un lugar cálido, lleno de risas y del delicioso aroma de su comida; en especial su mole, una de las muchas maneras en que demostraba su amor.
A Ema le sobreviven su amado esposo, Gaspar Córdova, y sus seis hijos: Socorro (María) Córdova, Javier (Bernice) Córdova, Trina (Israel) Tovar, Yadira Córdova, Verónica Córdova (Salvador) y Sandra (Alberto) Solano. Abuela de 17 nietos y 2 bisnietos, y una bisnieta en camino. Ema fue precedida en la muerte por sus padres, su hermano Luis y sus hermanas Consuelo y Anita, su nieta Emily y su bisnieta Demaya.
El velorio se llevará a cabo el domingo 2 de noviembre de 2025, a partir de las 4:00 p.m. El velorio tendrá lugar hasta las 8:00 p.m. en la Funeraria Justen de Round Lake, ubicada en 222 N. Rosedale Court, Round Lake, IL 60073. La misa de funeral se celebrará el lunes 3 de noviembre de 2025 en la Iglesia Católica de San José, ubicada en 114 N.
