Emalie Jean Worthington, 87, of Nowata, formerly of Ramona, joined her beloved husband Jack in heaven on Friday, October 17, 2025.

Emalie was born December 17, 1937, in Nowata County, Oklahoma, to Fred "Lee" and Gladys (Gregory) York. She attended school in Coffeyville, Kansas, and then left school early to start her family. Emalie met the love of her life, Jack Worthington, at a dance in Coffeyville, Kansas, when she was only 14. Soon after she moved to El Paso, Texas, because of Jack being in the Army. The couple married on January 13, 1955, in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and made their home in Delaware, Oklahoma. They moved to Dewey in May 1955 and lived there for about ten years before moving to their farm in Ramona, where they lived until Jack's passing, when Emalie moved to Nowata to live with one of their daughters.

Emalie and Jack were saved at the Church of God Holiness Church in Dewey in the mid-1960s and they attended there for several decades. They later went to the Ochelata Methodist Church.

After Jack retired from Phillips Petroleum Company, Emalie and Jack enjoyed traveling. Emalie loved family gatherings and always managed to bring too much food to events. She loved buying shoes and watching QVC. She and Jack enjoyed watching Westerns on TV, especially John Wayne Westerns. Emalie also liked reading romance novels and going to thrift stores looking for dishes. One of her favorite pastimes was reading the Bible to Jack.

Emalie had a servant's heart. She loved to cook and entertain, and she always had a cake made on the table. Cooking was her love language. It was something she was very good at, and she loved it when people showed her how much they loved her cooking. She never followed a recipe and truly cooked from her heart.

She loved all her children and grandchildren. She had such a loving heart for children and Emalie and Jack had fostered children, as well. Emalie was such a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, always striving to give them a loving home. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her twin daughters, Diana Ross, and Deana Conley and her husband Dewayne; son, David Paul Worthington; four siblings, Richard York, Larry York, Hope Brothers, and Becky Lowry and husband Ernie; six grandchildren, Marquis Heyer, Bryan Heyer, Ryan Heyer, Heidi Hendricks and husband Bronc, Marci Rovenstine and husband Aaron, and Dustin Worthington and wife Kayla; great-grandchildren, Tyler Conley and his wife Mackenzie, Conner Conley and his wife Lacey, Mazie Hendricks, Sawyer Rovenstine, Logan Rovenstine, and Tanner Worthington; and two great-great-grandchildren, Oliver and Charlotte. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Worthington on August 20, 2024; her parents, Fred "Lee" and Gladys (York) Ross; and a brother, Gene Gregory.

Visitation will be held from 10-8 Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel, 113 S. Osage Ave., Dewey, OK 74029, 918-534-3030.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 24, 2025, at Ball Cemetery in Nowata, Oklahoma, with Pastor Steve Spangenberg officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carter Davis and Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel. Online condolences and remembrances may be shared at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com.
