Emanuel C. "Hollywood" Crowder, 64, of McCormick, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024, at his home.
Born in Laurens, he was the son of Peggy Wooten Chandler and the late Arthur Marshall Crowder. Emanuel was a U S Marine veteran and a retired corporal from the McCormick County Sheriff's Department. He was known as "Hollywood" and "Dad" to many and enjoyed playing the drums. "Hollywood" was cherished by all who knew him for his dedication of service to his community and was a member of the NAACP.
He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Irma Carroll Ramsey.
Surviving are his children, Emily Crowder and Austin Crowder (Katie); grandchildren, Evelyn and Jace; sisters, Angela Boyce and Tonya Gordan (Michael); best friends, Tim Price and Joe Collier; and the love of his life, his dog, Cole.
Graveside services will be held at 1pm on Friday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Tim Price, Joe Collier, Melvin Brock, Sherriff Clarke Stearns and Dickie Waters.
Honorary escort will be the McCormick County Sheriff's Department.
The family will receive friends at Harley Funeral Home on Friday from 10:30 am -12:30pm.

Emanuel, started his career in law enforcement with the City of Greenwood. He was a uniformed patrolman assigned to patrol the city. He was always well groomed and presented himself well.
Emanuel was liked by all who knew him. Go rest high on the mountain
