Joan Crowder Obituary
Joan Marie Crowder, 88, of Chesterfield, Va., passed away on March 2, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband, of 50 years, William N. Crowder; parents, Emma and Melvin Thomas, and Olden R. Cecil; sister, Helen Carnes; brothers, Bubba Cecil and Junnie Cecil. She is survived by four children, Judy White and spouse, Jane Haycox, Joann Ellington, and Tommy Crowder and spouse; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A beloved matriarch, Joan possessed the rare gift of making people in her life feel cherished. Her beauty, humor, wit, joyfulness and kindness will forever be missed.
Her family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Blileys Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where a funeral ceremony will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2026. Interment to follow at Dale Memorial Park. A reception will be held at the family home following the interment, located at 4512 Forrestal Rd Chester, Va 23831.
