Emanuel “Manny” Rudolph Martin, 88 of Ashland, died February 27, 2025, at Ontario Estates Senior Living Facility in Ontario, Ohio.
Manny was born on January 14, 1937, in Fremont, Ohio to John Jacob and Margaret Paula (Karaba) Martin. He graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in Fremont and privately studied through Moody Bible Institute. Manny also proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
He married Joanne Louise Koke on February 20, 1960. Together they celebrated 65 years of marriage.
Manny started his years of employment as an ice cream delivery boy and then worked as a manager at Isaly’s in Fremont before being transferred to Ashland. He then worked for Hostess Cakes for 30 years, followed by several years working for Ashland City Schools as a detention supervisor. He taught Sunday school and led Junior Church at Calvary Baptist Church in Ashland, taught Sunday school at Park Street Brethren in Ashland, and led Bible studies at First Lutheran Church in Shelby. Manny also led Worship services for the residents at the Brethren Care Village in Ashland. A lover of Southern Gospel music, he sang for many years in a church quartet and also played the harmonica. Additionally, Manny was a New York Yankees fan.
Manny will be deeply missed by his wife Joanne, son and daughter-in-law Paul & Sarah Martin, and grandson McCray Martin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings John Joseph, Ramona Ann, and Mary Margaret.
