Emery Smith was born in Washington, DC to Emery E. Smith I and Dorthea Cohill on January 11, 1941. He attended Bladensburg in Maryland, where he graduated. He then went to join the Army where he served 26 years then retired. After retiring from the Army he retired as a postal service man of 20 years.
Emery Smith was preceded in death by his Wife, Waltraud Smith; his sister Barbara Bolton and both his parents Emery E. Smith I and Dorthea Cohill.
Emery Smith is survived by daughter; Laya Curry spouse Jerry Curry; Son, Dirk Smith. Grandson, Tyler Maylone spouse Savannah Maylone; Great grandson Tee Maylone, Great granddaughter, Sunny Maylone. Granddaughter, Justine Word and spouse Kody Word; Great grandson Kalihan Word.
