Emil Lopata Obituary
Emil Lopata passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at the age of 79, at home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; two daughters, Jennifer Grubb (Kevin) and Pamela Driscoll (Tom); sisters, Margaret Bandura and Mary Blake; his grandchildren, Brian and Jason Grubb; and twins Timothy and Noelle Driscoll.
Viewing services will be held at the Higgins Funeral Home, Watchung, from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm on Tuesday, June 18th. A Church Service will be held at Pluckemin Presbyterian Church, Pluckemin, on Wednesday, June 19th at 11:30 am. Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery, located at 1621 Stuyvesant Avenue, Union. I worked with Emil for many years at the Somerset Patriots. I cried when he told me he was retiring from the Patroits at the end of that season. He was an awesome and kind person and a joy to be around. Every time I go to the ballpark I think of him. I miss him dearly. My condolences to the entire family. He will be missed by everyone.

One of my favorites! Two loving brothers. My dad and uncle Emil. May he rest in peace. Such a great man that we will miss dearly and always.
