Emiliano V. Garza, 83, of Levelland, Texas passed away on February 6, 2024. He spent his last days lovingly surrounded by his family.
Emiliano was born to Florentino and Eloisa Garza on October 13, 1940 in Pearsall, Texas. He attended school in Pearsall then moved to serve as an integral contributor to the family household as a farmer. After short stints as a truck driver, he returned to farming and went on to raise three children.
Emiliano is survived by his sister, Estella Castellano and husband Gabriel of Levelland, TX; brother Marcos Reyna, also of Levelland; two boys, Robert and wife Josie of Lubbock, TX and Tino and wife Cynthia of Prosper, TX; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Emiliano was predeceased by his parents, Florentino and Eloisa Garza; and daughter, Lisa Ornelas.
Emiliano was a loving, caring brother, father, and grandfather. He held his family tightly, providing support, advice, compassion, and a warm shoulder when needed.
Emiliano had a love for his community and the people in it. He loved his church, volunteering and participating well into his later years. He enjoyed driving around Levelland and was frequently seen walking the local stores, conversing with familiar faces, and meeting new people. He also looked forward to morning get-togethers with friends drinking coffee and talking about his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys. Emiliano had a positive presence in his community, and he will truly be missed.
Emiliano’s family will host a funeral service on Monday, February 12, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. The service will be at St. Michaels Church in Levelland. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 pm on Sunday, February 11, 2024, with the Rosary at 2:00pm at Krestridge Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery.
