Emilio Ermio Jr. passed away peacefully on July 31st, 2025, surrounded by love and comfort. He left this world without pain and with the grace and dignity that defined his life. Born on October 31st, 1946, in Negros Occidental, Philippines, to Emilio Ermio Sr. and Luz S. Navarro, Emilio was destined to live a meaningful and accomplished life. A gifted student from an early age, Emilio and his sister Lucita made history in 1963 as the first siblings at Manila High School to graduate with the top two honors - Emilio earning the title of valedictorian. In 1968, Emilio joined the Philippine Military Academy, which marked the beginning of a long and honorable military career. He proudly served in the Navy and the Air Force until his retirement in 1996. After his military service, he continued contributing to his community through his work at BART, where he later retired as well. Emilio had a deep passion for health and fitness. Even after his cancer diagnosis, he remained dedicated to walking daily, showing his strength and resilience. He found great joy in tending his garden and actively participating in his church community. A devout Catholic, Emilio was a proud member of the Dominican Laity and deeply involved in the Knights of Columbus - roles that brought him spiritual fulfillment and lifelong friendships. Emilio believed strongly in the power of education. Once he became financially stable, he quietly gave back - helping many students achieve their academic dreams by funding their education. His generosity and commitment to lifting others up will continue to ripple through the lives he touched. He is survived by his three children: Davy Joseph Ermio, Anthony Ermio, and Emily Ermio. He also leaves behind his devoted nieces Henricita Younger, Mona Ceballos and Ariane Navarro; his half sister Anita Pacturan; his grand nephews Liam R. Younger and Landon T. Younger; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will carry his memory in their hearts. Emilio's legacy is one of love, humility, service, and unwavering faith. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Viewing will be held at Passalacqua Funeral Chapel in Benicia on Tuesday August 12, beginning at 3p. A vigil will be held on the same day from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. A funeral mass will be held at St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Benicia on the following day, August 13 at 11:00 A.M.
