Emily Ruth McIntosh

Emily Ruth Corbin McIntosh, 73, of Lake Lure North Carolina, passed away in her home on Monday evening, April 28th, 2025.
Emily was the third daughter of Geraldine Sproat Corbin and Irvin Corbin. She was born on December 30, 1951, in Royal Oak, Michigan and spent her childhood there alongside her siblings, James (Sue Corbin), Patrick, Peggy (John Brown), Thomas (Lauren Corbin), and Robert (Danielle Corbin). Emily was a graduate of Royal Oak's Dondero High School.
Emily was a loving mother to her four children, Jenny (Travis Smith), David, Danny (Meghan McIntosh), and Roger. She had a love for travel and lived in many different places as she raised her children. She lived in Vicenza Italy, Georgia, Royal Oak and Lapeer Michigan. She settled in Lake Lure, North Carolina in 1989.
Emily was a talented seamstress (who enjoyed making costumes and gowns for all her children) and a successful business owner of Emily Tapestry. She loved to laugh and knew no stranger. She will be remembered for her bright personality and joyous sense of humor. One of her greatest joys was being "Grammy" to all her grandchildren; Jasmine Karabelski, Isabella Karabelski, Faith Karabelski, Gabriel Karabelski, Casandra Bowyer, Tyler Bowyer, Kaiden McIntosh, Kiella McIntosh, Alexis Broomfield, and Rylan McIntosh. She was "Great-Grammy" to Isaac and Ivan Darden, and an aunt to many nieces and nephews.
In Emily's own words she would want you to know "This life is only the Beginning. We will see each other again...take way too many pictures, Laugh as much as you can and Love like you've never been hurt. Dance Babies Dance!"
