WATERBURY - It is with profound sadness that the family of Dorothy M. McIntosh, age 85, of Waterbury, Connecticut, share the news of her peaceful passing on November 18, 2025, at St. Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on August 8, 1940, in Sunbury, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Ruth Smith and James Smith Sr.. A woman of deep faith, she was a devoted member of the Refuge Church of Christ in Waterbury. Her strong belief in God, steady spirit, and generous heart guided her throughout her life. Above all, Dorothy lived her entire life devoted to her children, always placing their needs, happiness, and well-being at the center of her world.

She leaves behind her daughter Sheila McIntosh, and her sons Jesse McIntosh, Todd McIntosh, Theodore McIntosh, and Jamil Lawrence, along with Jamil’s beloved partner Stacey Mandato. Dorothy is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Jamil Lawrence, Nakesha McIntosh, Edie Peterson, Sophie Clapp, Juwan Overton, Taiwan Overton, Jashia Samuel, Tiara McIntosh, Robin McIntosh, and Alaina Mandato, as well as her beloved great-grandchildren Makhi McIntosh and Makayla McIntosh.
