WATERBURY – It is with profound sadness that the family of Laurence Regan, age 81, of Waterbury, CT, and Leesburg, FL, shares the news of his peaceful passing on Friday, November 14, 2025, at St. Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Laurence was born on May 4, 1944, in Waterbury, the son of the late Edward Sr. and Beatrice (Atwood) Regan. He attended local schools and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force with the 465th Strategic Air Command. Following his military service, Laurence built a long and respected career as a master electrician. He worked at Winchester Electronics, later became a partner with Interstate Electrical Services, and ultimately retired after more than 20 years of dedicated service with IBEW Local 488. Known for his warm spirit, generous heart, and love for life, Laurence expressed his joy through many passions. A devout parishioner of St. Paul’s Church in Leesburg, he was active within his church community. He was a proud Fourth Degree member of Assembly 1675, Knights of Columbus in Leesburg, FL, and a longtime member of Elks Lodge 265 in Waterbury. Deeply committed to helping others, Laurence also served as an EMT and was a former member of the Northfield Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle, tending to his plants, and could always be counted on to lend a helping hand with any home project. More than anything, he treasured time spent with his beloved family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: Lori (Jean) Bellerive, Shaun (Bridget) Regan, and Colleen Regan; his four grandchildren: Devyn, Chandler (Leigh-Ann), and Dr. Chloe Bellerive, and Katherine Regan; his great-granddaughter, Magnolia Grace; and his step–great-grandchildren, Jaycen and Carson. He also leaves his sisters, Sharon (Kelly) Way of Leesburg, FL, and Marie Claire Pelletier of Thomaston, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and many dear friends. Laurence was predeceased by his brother, Edward Regan Jr.; his sister, Barbara Franzese; sister-in-law Esther Regan, and his brothers-in-law, Ned Franzese and Gerard Pelletier Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. Regan will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 West Main Street, Waterbury. All those attending are kindly asked to meet directly at church. Burial with full military honors will follow in Saint James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Laurence’s family on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 1987 East Main Street, Waterbury, CT. To honor Laurence’s memory, and in lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Children’s Hospital would be greatly appreciated by his family. Expressions of loving kindness are always welcome, and friends are encouraged to offer a message of condolence, words of comfort, or share a cherished memory on the funeral home website at www.caseyfunerals.com.
