Emily Neff Obituary
Emily Rachel Neff
April 1, 1987 - August 3, 2025
Beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend April 1, 1987 - August 3, 2025.
It is with broken hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Emily Rachel Neff on August 3, 2025, at the age of 38.
Emily was born in Elko, Nev., on April 1, 1987, to Wendell and Christine Neff. She grew up in the quiet beauty of Ruby Valley, where she developed a deep love for nature, animals, and the close-knit ranching life she shared with her family.
From a young age, Emily was strong, kind, and endlessly capable. She graduated from Spring Creek High School in 2005 and went on to earn a degree of Applied Science from Great Basin College in diesel mechanics, welding, and CNA work, skills she used with pride, working hard and helping others wherever she could.
Emily poured her heart into everything she did whether it was riding horses across the valley, working side by side with her dad on the ranch, or caring for the many animals she loved like family. She found joy in adventure, traveling with friends to Idaho, Bali, and the waters of Mexico. She especially loved photographing the landscapes of her beloved Ruby Valley her way of preserving the places that felt like home.
More than anything, Emily loved her family. She was a devoted daughter, a protective sister, and an adoring aunt to her nieces and nephews, who lit up her life. She had a quiet strength, a generous heart, and a gentle soul that left an imprint on everyone who knew her.
Her passing leaves an unimaginable void in the lives of those who loved her. Emily had so much more to give, so many more memories to make, and she will be missed every single day.
Emily was preceded in death by her grandparents, Emerson Neff, Beryl Neff, and Brent Nye.
She is survived by her parents, Wendell and Christine Neff; her sister, Jessica Neff (John Sharples); her brothers, Quinton Neff (Kathy), Luke Neff, Jeremy Neff (Shanna), and Jason Neff (Erma); and her treasured nieces and nephews: Kendra, Kendall, Breeanna, Josiah, Saul, Ellie, Ezra, Dax, Caster, Zekiah, Finn, Atlas, and Winters, grandmother, Katherine Nye. She also leaves behind her beloved dogs, Beau, A.J., and Jazmine who were constant companions and true friends.
A funeral service for Emily will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ruby Valley, Nev., on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 2 p.m., with a viewing at 1 p.m.
All who knew and loved Emily are welcome to join us in remembering her life.
Dinner will be served after the service for those who wish to stay and visit with the family.
