Mrs. Emily Marie Keys Opher of Port Jervis, NY, died Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Garnet Health Medical Center. She was 79.

She was born November 22, 1946 in Port Jervis, NY the daughter of the late Leverett Keys and the late Alice Scott Keys.

Emily was married to her loving husband, Samuel "Rudy" Opher on August 25, 1977 in the Town of Greenville, NY. They shared 46 memorable years together until his passing in 2023.

She was a source of strength, kindness, and unconditional love in our life, and we will carry her lessons and her spirit with us every day. We want to thank everyone who has supported our family with prayers, love and kindness during this time.

Surviving are:

Her loving children, Tammise Hastings-Stine and her husband Douglas, Theresa Harrell Bachetta and her husband Edward, and Michael Rudell Opher; her sisters, Cynthia Edwards, Dolores Carnosa and Barbara Gillian; her beloved grandchildren, Devin Allen Stine, Hannah Harrell, Camden-Lei Allen Stine, and Conner-Lium Allen Stine; Gwendolyn Glinton, Penny Coxson Burden, and Marsha Wilson, her local cousins that visited and prayed with her; Also several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter, Synthia Marie Hastings and her brother, Leverett Keys.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Wickham Methodist Church, 32 Bruce St., Port Jervis, NY 12771 on Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 10:00am to 12:00pm. A funeral service will follow at 12:00pm at Wickham Church.
