Emily Waldrep Patton

Emily Waldrep Patton, 93, of Dalton, formerly of Chatsworth, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023. Emily was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 70 years, Raymond C. Patton; her grandson, Daniel Owensby; her parents, William and Gretchen Waldrep; and her sister, Gretchen Corum.
Emily was a beloved and devoted member of First Baptist Church of Dalton. She was active in many of the Church's ministries, including Sunday School, missions programs, and Women on Mission. She loved singing in the senior adult New Horizons Choir and working with children in the Church. As an outgrowth of her love for children, she began a kindergarten program at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Morrow. She loved flowers and all aspects of gardening. As great as her love was for these many things, nothing outweighed her love for her family!
Emily is survived by her children, Peggy and Milton Owensby, David Patton and his partner, Barbara Roberts, and Paul and Angela Patton; grandchildren, Amy and Dwayne Pittman, Bryan Owensby, Elizabeth and Drake Aldredge, Ryan Patton, and Rebecca Patton; and great-grandchildren, Bethany Pittman, Bryce Pittman, Christian Owensby, Noah Owensby, and Jonas Owensby. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Emily Patton will be on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First Baptist Church of Dalton, P. O.
