Mrs. Emily Brooke Freeman Perez, 33, of Phenix City, AL passed away Thursday, March 26, 2026 at her home.

A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 pm EST until 6:00 pm EST on Friday, April 3, 2026 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL.

Emily was born May 13, 1992, in LaGrange, GA, daughter of Jeff Freeman and Cathy Stephens Peace. She worked for many years in the retail industry but recently transitioned into the grocery industry, working for Publix. Emily was known by her family and friends as a social butterfly. She didn’t meet strangers and was always willing to offer a helping hand to someone in need. Emily’s hobbies included watching the stars and anything to do with ladybugs. Her compassion for helping others will be missed by her family and anyone that knew her. Emily attended First Assembly of God church in Phenix City, AL.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Dennis Stephens and his wife Dillie; her paternal grandparents, Ray and Nelda Freeman.

Emily is survived by her mother, Cathy Stephens Peace and step-father Dean; father, Jeff Freeman and step-mother, Darlene; a daughter, Natalie Perez; maternal grandmother, Jean Knapp; a companion, Michael J. Hedden; siblings, Briana Villiard, Haley Villiard, Dean Peace, III, Andy Freeman, Anthony Freeman, Logan Peace (Katelyn) and Paul McCorkle, Jeremy Dowdy (Joy), several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
