Emily Posada

Emily Patricia Posada, 49, passed away August 13, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born September 26, 1975 in Victoria, Texas. Emily was a light in every room she entered, known for her infectious smile, kind spirit, and the way she made everyone feel like family.

Emily was a proud Stroman Raider, Class of 1993, and later earned her Associate of Applied Science degree from Victoria College. While she was proud of her accomplishments, her greatest pride came from being a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.

Emily was happiest when cheering on her children. She was a true Warrior Band mom and NSA Gym mom, always there working the concession stand, in the stands, the crowd, or on the sidelines, supporting with love and enthusiasm. Emily loved traveling and exploring the world with her family, as well as Friday nights being reserved for family as she treasured those weekly gatherings, making sure her loved ones always felt connected and cared for.

She never met a stranger. Emily greeted everyone with warmth, laughter, and a smile that made life brighter. As a teacher and parent coordinator, she touched the lives of countless children and families, leaving behind lessons of love, patience, and kindness that will never be forgotten.

Emily is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Richard Posada; her children, Téa, Aaron, and Eve Posada; her parents, Albert and Patricia Vasquez; her sister, Sarah Vasquez; and her grandmother, Irene R. Garcia. She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved daughter, Olivia Patricia Posada; her grandparents, Frank and Emilia Vasquez; and her grandfather, Lupe C. Garcia. Pallbearers will be Aaron, Robert, and Roland Posada, Marina Vasquez, Elias Holden, Jack Granato. Her family would like to extend their deepest thanks to the Citizens Medical Center ICU staff and the Baylor St. Luke's team for the exceptional care and compassion shown to Emily and for allowing her family to be by her side during her final days. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 20th, at Angel Lucy's Funeral Home beginning at 5:00 p.m., followed by a rosary at 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, August 21st, at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, with interment at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Emily's legacy of love, joy, and selflessness will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Though her time here was far too short, she leaves behind a lifetime of beautiful memories that will never fade.
