Emily Boone Renfrow, 87, of Morehead City, N.C. passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family Sunday, May 6, 2018. Emily Boone was born in Jackson, N.C. to Estelle and John E. Boone on June 11, 1930.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, May 10, 2018 at First United Methodist Church with Pastors Ed Renfrow and Powell Osteen officiating.
Emily was a retired school teacher, Salvation Army supporter, Mother of the Year Award, tutor at Teacher's Pet, community cook, piano teacher, shop keeper, entrepreneur and was devoted to Children's Literacy throughout her life, etc., etc., etc. She served with MADD, Al-Anon, and Tough Love. She was best known for her peanut brittle and yard sales.
She was a devoted wife of Council R. Renfrow, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and sister.
Emily was preceded in death by her husband, Council R. Renfrow, and grandson, Jack Crosswell, and mother and father, Estelle and John Boone.
Emily is survived by her children as follows; daughters, Patty Broyles and husband, Eric, John Renfrow, Emily B. Guthrie and husband, George, Robert "Bob" Renfrow, and James "Jim" Renfrow; sister, Betty Harrison; niece, Elizabeth Harrison; nephew, Lee Harrison; grandchildren, Summer Kelly and husband, Jordan, Noah Renfrow, Dylan Renfrow, Bradley Broyles, Susanne Allen, and Jennifer Gore; and great-grandchildren, Bailey, Cadence, Tucker, Josh, Matt and Emma.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers, Becky, Jennifer, Deborah, Amy, Lindsey, Becky K., Ottis, Rony, and Tripp.
The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Munden Funeral Home.
Family request no flowers. Memorial donations may be made to Rehoboth First United Methodist Church, 1101 Rehoboth Church Rd, Jackson, NC 27845 or you can donate a backpack in her honor to a child in need.
