Emily Diane Wilson, known as Diane, was born on January 8, 1954, in Rusk, Texas, to Connie Virdell McClure and Nellie Dee Cornwell-Phifer McClure, who have preceded her in death. Diane's journey through life was marked by her unwavering kindness, deep love for her family, and a spirit that brought joy to everyone she encountered.
A proud graduate of Diboll High School in 1972, Diane earned her certification as a dietician, but it was her passion for cooking and supporting her family that defined her. She spent countless hours in the kitchen, making sun tea, and preparing meals that brought her loved ones together. Her nurturing heart was felt by everyone, as she consistently went above and beyond to care for those in need. Diane devoted over 30 years to working in Children's Ministry at her church, where she inspired and encouraged countless children, leaving a legacy of love and support behind.
Diane was married to James Wilson on June 26, 1976 at Oak Grove Assembly of God in Lufkin, Texas and they were married for 49 years until her passing.
Diane passed away peacefully on Friday, September 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at Parkwood in the Pines in Lufkin, Texas. She leaves behind her husband, James Wilson; her cherished children, Justin Wilson (Amber) and Alisha Wilson (Ricky). Diane was a proud grandmother to Savannah Wilson, Baylor Wilson, and Codee Flangan, who brought her immeasurable joy. Her siblings—Calvin McClure (Laura), Joy McClure, Keith McClure, Roger McClure (Deana), Sharon McClure-Malanders (Gerald), —along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Diane's life. The family will receive friends for visitation on September 8, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Foundry Assembly of God, located at 1405 S Chestnut St, Lufkin, TX 75901. A Celebration of Life will follow the next day, September 9, 2025, starting at 1:00 PM at the same location, concluding with her burial at Gann Cemetery in Pollok, TX, at 2:15 PM.
Diane’s family would like to express sincere gratitude to the staff of Parkwood in the Pines and to the staff of Three Oaks Hospice. Your kindness and care for Diane did not go unnoticed and we will forever be grateful.
As we remember Diane, we honor an amazing woman whose influence reached far and wide. Her love and compassion will continue to inspire us all, reminding us to support one another in times of need and cherish the moments spent with family and friends.
