Emma Gerarda (Lombardo) Braisted, 80, of Dover, Delaware, passed away peacefully in her home on June 24th, 2024, after a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Italy in 1944 to Gennaro and Caterina Lombardo and came to the United States with her family in 1956. After graduating from high school and beauty school in The Bronx, New York, she enjoyed a career in hairdressing. She eventually settled in Hopatcong, New Jersey, after marrying her husband, George, in 1965 and later retired in Dover, Delaware. She loved to travel and, most of all, spend time with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Yolanda Lombardo, and is survived by her husband, George; her son, Mark, of Clarksville, MD; her son, Brian, of Andover, NJ; and her grandchildren, Alex and Ashlynn, of Clarksville, MD. She is also survived by her sister, Rita, and brother-in-law, Robert Muccino, of Shrub Oak, NY; her brother, Gerard, and sister-in-law, Lina, of Yonkers, NY; and a large and loving family of cousins, nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, and many others.
A private service will be held with her family and closest friends.
