Emma C. Harris, age 92 of Lebanon, passed away on May 1st, 2025 at Quality Center for Rehabilitation and Healing. Emma was born March 3, 1933 to the late Jesse James Merritt and Josephine Pope Merritt. She is preceded in death by her husband, John S. Harris and brothers, Roy Lee Merritt and Jesse James Merritt II.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Randy) Turpin; sister-in-law, Frances Merritt; nieces, Kay Smith, Patricia (Wayne) Bajcar, Loretta (Dale) Burman, Carol (John) Vermilye and Mary Merritt; nephews, Randy Harris, Pat Merritt and Jesse James Merritt III; great-nieces, Angela (Scott) Miller, Monica (Terry) Rhodes, and Jessica (Kevin) Whitton; cousins, Beverly (Tommy) Little and Eddie (Pam) Cothern and great- grandpuppy, Layla.
Emma was a faithful Christian woman and longtime member of Vesta Church of Christ. She was always by the side of her rock, her daughter Debbie, and deeply loved her family. Emma worked for a time at the Lebanon Garment Company before becoming a devoted homemaker, lovingly sewing clothes for her family and caring for their home. She enjoyed traveling-taking memorable trips to Washington, D.C., Alaska, the Grand Canyon, Florida, and Ohio, and especially loved camping and spending time at her home on cherished family land.
Visitation for Mrs. Harris will take place Monday, May 5th, 2025 from 11 am until the funeral service at 2 pm at Partlow Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Lannom Cemetery at Vesta. Bro. Darrell Duncan will officiate the service. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and friends at Quality Center for Rehabilitation and Healing for the wonderful care and love they received. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vesta Church of Christ in memory of Mrs. Harris (In care of Roy Denney, 3740 Vesta Road, Lebanon, TN 37090)
