Emma Jane Johnston Parro was born on July 27, 1931, in Bethel Springs, Tennessee, to the late Paul and Della Plunk Johnston.

On June 2, 1951, she united in marriage with Arnold Dow Parro, who welcomed her into eternal life on August 28, 2009.

Together, Emma and Dow cultivated a vibrant life, running both the Circle Drive-In and Twin Oaks Café, creating a gathering place for friends and family alike. Her unwavering commitment to her community extended beyond her businesses; she was a devoted member of New Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church and exhibited a profound love for all living creatures. Many will remember her warm heart, always finding a way to nurture stray dogs, curious cats, and even the migrating geese.

Mrs. Parro's gifts were not just limited to her kindness; she was also an exceptional homemaker, taking pride in creating a warm and inviting space for her loved ones. Her legacy is one of love, care, and an unyielding spirit that touched those around her.

Mrs. Parro departed this life on February 16, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving behind a loving family that includes her daughter, Paula Plunk, and husband Tim of Bethel Springs; her granddaughter, Lindsay Dyle, and husband Stephen of Buffalo, Missouri; and her great-granddaughter, Allie Dyle of Buffalo, Missouri. She is also survived by special family friends, Wanda Perrigo and family, Phyllis Simmons and family; her beloved dog, Salem, and numerous cousins and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Emma was preceded in death by an infant brother and sister.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Legacy Hospice for their compassionate care during her final days.

Emma Jane Johnston Parro’s spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her, a beautiful soul whose kindness knew no bounds. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.
