Emma Marano (nee Mele), 91 of Orange, NJ passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025.
Visiting will be in Paul Ippolito-Dancy Memorial, 9 Smull Ave., Caldwell, N.J., on Monday, March 3rd from 4 to 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for a Funeral Service in the funeral home at 11 am on Tuesday, March 4th immediately followed by the entombment at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum in East Hanover, N.J.
Born in Pratola Serra, Italy, Emma emigrated to the United States in 1966 and lived in Orange, N.J., until 1984, when the family moved to Montclair, N.J., where she resided until 2006. She spent her golden years in Verona, N.J., and also lived briefly in Florida in 2020.
A self-employed seamstress Emma was a wonderful cook, a talented gardener, and a devoted animal lover. She was a cherished wife, mother, and grandmother whose warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew her. A caring friend and a pillar of strength for her family, her home was always open-a place filled with love, care, and dedication.
Above all, Emma put her family first, protecting and guiding her children and grandchildren with boundless love. Her unwavering devotion and generosity will forever be remembered. While we will miss her deeply, we take comfort in the legacy of love she leaves behind.
Emma was predeceased by her beloved husband of 54 years, Alfonso and her three brothers, Rosario Mele, Carmen Mele and Joseph Mele.
Emma is survived by her children, Rose Gambino and her husband Jack, Anna Maria Bates and her husband James, Ralph
Marano and his wife Marie and Louie Marano and his wife Elizabeth; Cherished grandchildren, Jack, Daniella, Luciano, Antonio, Matthew, Joseph, Gianna, Madison and Hailey, also survived by loving nieces and nephews.
