Emma Lee Mongold, 80, of Mathias, WV went peacefully to be with the Lord on the morning of Tuesday, August 19, 2025 after her courageous battle with cancer.

Born on March 30, 1945 in Bergton, VA, she was the daughter of the late Basil Snyder and Margaret Marie Tusing.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Hearl C. "Snuffy" Mongold whom she married on June 4, 1960.

Also surviving are her children: Harold "JR" Mongold of Mathias, WV, Victoria "Vicky" Combs, of Mathias, WV, Linda Lafollette (Bobby) of Yellow Springs, WV, William "Billy" Mongold (Crystal) of Mathias, WV; 3 sisters: Patricia Spitzer of Broadway, VA, Fannie Bennett (Tommy) of Lost City, WV, Angela Musga (John) of Salem, Oregan; 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and one expected in November. She also had many nieces and nephews that she loved very much.

She was preceded in death by a great grandchild, Olive Miller.

Emma attended New Life Apostolic Church and was a member of the Mathias Ruritan Club. She donated so much time, effort and love into giving back to her community, neighbors, and friends. She loved and cherished her family and it never went unnoticed. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, painting, reading and never missed a good yard sale. She loved her dog, Daisy.

Emma chose to spend the last year of her life at E.A. Hawse Nursing home in Baker, WV where she made many friends and became their resident council representative. Her family would sincerely like to send their love and heartfelt thanks to the staff there and also to the Hahn Cancer Center in Harrisonburg, VA for all their dedicated care for her over the years.

Her body was cremated at her request and the family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.

All arrangements are by McKee Funeral Home, Baker, WV.
