Emma Riggi Obituary
Emma Grace (Monteon) Riggi, 91 of Blairsville, PA passed away on November 4, 2024 at Harmon House Health & Rehab in Mt. Pleasant, PA after battling lymphatic cancer for several years. She was born on December 5th, 1933 to John Munshower Sr and Helen Protsko Munshower.
Emma's early career (1956-1963) started at the Patrica Stevens Modeling School in Los Angeles California before moving back to Blairsville raising her family and then retiring from Torrance State Hospital after 27 years. After retirement she was a caregiver for her dad and daughter Virginia and sold Mary Kay cosmetics for 25 years. Emma was a faithful member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Blairsville, serving as a Deacon for nine years.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Julian Monteon, second husband, John Montgomery and late husband, Louis Riggi; brothers, Harry Munshower & John Munshower; sisters, Helen Rabichaw & Barbara Smith; daughter, Virginia Schweizer and son-in law, Phillip Schweizer.
She is survived by her grandchildren: Jodi Schweizer & Scott Schweizer; great grandson, Riley Schweizer of Westmoreland County and her niece, Kelly Munshower of Blairsville. She is also survived by her son, Bryan Monteon & wife, Teresa; grandchildren: Lindsey Alonzo & Lauren Holder & great granddaughter, Scout Holder, all from Georgia.
The family will receive friends at the Ferguson Funeral Home & Monument Company, 25 W. Market St., Blairsville, PA 15717 on Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 1-3 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 3 PM with Pastor John Manon officiating.
