Emma Walker

Ms. Emma L. Walker, daughter of Peter Bun Smith, Sr. and Castealia Smith was born August 26, 1943, in Aiken, South Carolina. She received her early education in the public schools of Aiken County. She became a member at an early age of Zion Fair Missionary Baptist Church. Emma had a prosperous career at Owens-Corning Fiberglass, where she retired after 34 years. Emma married the late Lee Walker, in which resulted of two daughters, Kathy McKevie and Sabrina Ray. She was blessed with nine grandchildren; Raven Hickman (Terrence), Troy A McKevie, Leslie Ray, Erika Ray, Cammarion Mckevie, Demarius McKevie, Bernard Mckevie, Jamonica McKevie, and Carerea McKevie; thirteen great-grandchildren, Emmanuel Hickman, Eijah Hickman, Genesis Hickman, Zechariah Ray, Nivea Ray, Akeelah McKevie, Alicia McKevie, Aaliyah McKevie, Paris McKevie, Amay McKevie, Troy A. McKevie, Jr., Z'Lay McKevie, and Novlynn Mckevie. Emma loved going to church and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Emma was preceded in death by four sisters, Lizzie Aaron, Ollie Bush, Nancy Bush, Dora Bell Cook, and four brothers, John Henry Smith, Tillman Smith, Edward Smith, and Peter Smith, Jr. Emma leaves to cherish her loving memory: her two loving daughters, Kathy McKevie (Troy), Jackson, SC and Sabrina Ray, Aiken, SC; one loving brother, James (Lorraine) Smith; one sister, Laura Riley, all of Aiken, SC; one uncle, Ezekiel Cummings; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relative and friends
