Emmanuel Thomás Ortega

2025 Emmanuel Thomás Ortega, a resident of Rio Communities, NM, passed away on August 22, 2025. A dedication and remembrance will be held at First Baptist Church of Belen at a later date. He is preceded in death by, and shares a heavenly birthday, August 22, with his great-grandpa, Thomas Jensen, for whom he is named; and other great-grandparents. Emmanuel is survived by his mother, Michaela Ortega; father, Jesus Ortega Perez; sister, Elicia Ortega; grandparents, Leo and Susan Chavez, Brian Vigneau, Elizabeth Perez and Juan Ortega; tios, Juan Ortega, Anthony Chavez, Christopher Chavez; and tias, Anais Munoz and Josselyn Ortega. He was a loved son and anticipated member of the Ortegas' household, including his mom, Michaela; dad, Jesus; and big sister, Elicia. Emmanuel was named after his father, Jesus Manuel Ortega Perez; named Emmanuel, "God is with us." His parents thank God for the short 25 weeks they anticipated his coming and for the one day that they got to hold their sweet baby boy.
