Emogene "Hetty" Rouse, 86, of Whiteland, passed away on January 2, 2026. She was born on March 8, 1939 in Moss, Tennessee to Wooten and Moline Johnson. She worked various jobs including owning her own ceramic shop. She retired from Black & Decker after 12 years in customer service.
Emogene is survived by her 2 daughters Betty (Barry) Bouse and Robbie Pitcock; grandsons Ryan and Marcus Kowalewski and Nick and Adam Bouse; seven great-grandsons; and 1 great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband Mitchell Rouse; her grandson Dr. Chad Marvel; her parents and her brothers Eugene, H.B., and Harold Johnson.
Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00pm, with a service at 2:00pm on Friday January 9, 2026, at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229.
