Stewart, Sr., Emory Eugene Mr. Emory Eugene Stewart, Sr. age 84, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. Mr. Stewart was born on May 25, 1939, in Waynesville, North Carolina, to the late Emory Stewart and Mary Elizabeth Bradburn Stewart.

After graduating from Murphy High School in North Carolina, Emory moved to Georgia. He worked as a printing Journeyman for Dittler Brothers Printing before he became involved in real estate. He started out in real estate by selling houses, then began building houses and developing subdivisions. Emory progressed from residential real estate into commercial real estate. First, building commercial buildings for other people, then developing commercial properties for rental purposes. He treated the renters and everyone he knew like family. He was generous and caring towards everyone.

Along with his parents, Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold Stewart and Charles Stewart, and sister, Katherine Stewart Burrell.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Cindy Stewart; children, Missy/Mary Elizabeth (Scott) Baer, Emory (Sandra) Stewart, Jr.; sisters, Judy (David) Fowler, Sue (Ronnie) Whitener, and Brenda (Robert) Jones; grandchildren, Andrew, Alex, Savannah, and Jennifer; great-grandchildren, Dilynn, Jayden, Aryia, Greyson, Brendan, and Kyenna.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, June 19, 2023 at 1:00 PM from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Dr. Rusty Thomas officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: David Fowler, Scott Baer, Emory Stewart, Jr., Andrew Baer, and Alex Baer. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 12:00 PM.
