Enrico R. "Rick" Megaro, age 62, of Springfield, PA, passed away on April 11, 2025, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. A lifelong resident of Springfield, Rick was a proud graduate of Cardinal O'Hara High School, Class of 1980. He went on to earn his Master's Degree in Business Administration from Drexel University.
For 22 years, Rick served as a Deputy Controller for Delaware County. His commitment to community service was evident in every aspect of his life-he was a Fourth Degree member and a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Council 4500 at St. Kevin's Parish, the founder of the Esophageal Cancer Support Group of Philadelphia, and a faithful volunteer at his church. Rick had a heart for helping others and always made time to be of service.
He also enjoyed golfing, working on cars, and spending quality time with his family-especially Poppy to his cherished grandchildren and his beloved dog, Penny.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Romeo John and Philomena Mary (DiCarlo) Megaro, and by his sister. He is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Angela M. (LaRosa) Megaro; his children, Salvatore Megaro (Kayla) and Gianna Megaro (Zachary Kozlowski); and his adored grandchildren, Leo, Roman, and Noah. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins. Rick was a dear friend to many and will be missed by all.
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Monday, April 21, 2025, from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at St. Kevin Catholic Church, 200 W. Sproul Road, Springfield, PA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Rick's memory may be made to the Esophageal Cancer Support Group of Philadelphia (www.ecsop.org).Online condolences may be offered at www.paganofuneralhome.com.
