Josephine Megaro

Josephine (Gomez) Megaro, a lifelong resident of Stirling, NJ passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends, on February 11, 2025. She was 92 years old and poetically died on her husband's birthday. "Jo" was the beloved wife of Tommy Megaro and mother to her two daughters, Carol Jean and Diane. She was the best grandma ever to her 4 grandchildren TJ, Brian, Cassandra and Tayler and the proud "Great Grandma Jo" to Avery, Zoey and Jaiden.
Josephine was born in 1932 in Stirling and was the oldest of 7 Gomez children. A graduate of Bernards High School, she dedicated her life to her husband, Tommy, her community and her church. She was known for her kindness, faith and unwavering commitment to the Shrine of St Joseph as their secretary and event planner for over 50 years. She was one of the original members of the Long Hill Township Senior Center and found joy in organizing their many trips around the country.
Josephine loved spending her summers with Tommy and her family at their Seaside Park beach home, which was open to everyone. For over 60 years, countless memories were made there. Her warmth, love and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be Friday February 14, 2025 from 3 - 7 PM at the Valley Memorial Funeral Home 1012 Valley Road, Gillette, NJ 07933. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday February 15, 2025 at the Shrine of St. Joseph 1050 Long Hill Road, Stirling, NJ.
