Erbin B. "Butch" Hensley

Erbin "Butch" Hensley, 80, of Mishawaka, died Monday, March 21, 2022, in Hospice House. Butch was born on June 15, 1941, in Philadelphia, PA to the late George and Nora (Howard) Hensley. Also preceding him in death is his daughter, Christine Hensley; his grandson, Matthew Budzon; sister, Rose Hensley; a nephew, Chad Pearson; and half siblings George Mason Jr and Donald Mason.
On June 3, 1961, Butch married his high school sweetheart, Donna Teeter. She survives along with a daughter, Darlene Budzon of South Bend; 5 grandchildren, Brandon (Abby) Budzon, Ryan Budzon, Cyrus Behrend Kristi Johnson (Brad) and Pam Cashdollar (Matt); 4 great grandchildren; and his brothers, Del Hensley of South Bend, IN and Samuel (Myra) Hensley of South Bend, Indiana; and a half sister, Dorothy Wiley. Butch is also survived by his cousins in Ireland: Patrick and Mary Dennehey; along with his cousins in England: Mary and Chris O'Neil. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
Butch was employed at C.T.S. as a Tool & Die Maker for 45 years. He was a member of De Amici's Club, BK Club, Buckeye Club, Michiana Steelheaders and St. Monica's Catholic Church. He was an avid gun collector, hunter and fisherman and loved sharing his knowledge of his hobbies with his grandchildren. He enjoyed telling his hunting and fishing tales and gave advise to all that wanted to know and listen. He is in the World Fresh Water fishing Hall of Fame in Hayward, Wisconsin for designing and manufacturing one of the first geared down riggers for fishing the Great Lakes. One of the units is on display in the Worlds Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame. Butch took special pride in everything he did, especially in his lawn. He will be missed by his family and friends.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Matt at Center for Hospice; Nicole, the social worker with Hospice; and all the nurses that provided care for Butch during his stay.
The family will receive friends 1:00-2:15 pm on Monday, April 4, 2022, in Hahn Funeral Home 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka, IN with a memorial service to begin at 2:15 pm. Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka.
