Erelene Chadwell, age 75 of Barbourville, departed this life on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at her home with her family by her side. She was born on August 7, 1950, the daughter of Edward Aaron Gregory and Edith (Asher) Gregory. Erelene was a retired registered nurse having worked at Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward Aaron and Edith Gregory and one brother, Edward Aaron "Skip" Gregory, II.
Left behind to mourn her passing, her three children, Chris Chadwell, Kara Chadwell and Ryan Chadwell and two grandchildren, Kristian Cheek and Deaven Cheek and one sister, Peggy Retherford and husband Tom all of Barbourville.
At Erelene's request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Animal Rescues, St. Jude’s's Children's Hospital or to the American Cancer Society in her honor.
