Mona Mae Chadwell (Bond), 96, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on February 22nd, 2026.
Born on October 24th, 1929, in
Caldwell, Ohio, Mona was the second oldest of eight children. She and her siblings grew up working on a farm which instilled in her perseverance, dedication, tenacity and tireless effort; some of her greatest attributes. When she was just a freshman in High School, Mona met the love of her life, Ronald Chadwell. She was a cheerleader and he was a basketball player. There wasn't anything more that Mona (affectionately referred to as "G.G") loved more in life than her family. Ronald and Mona were devoted to each other in marriage for 62 years, and together they were blessed with seven children, nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren! G.G. wasn't just a nickname, but a title that was well-earned and justly deserved; she was everyone's grandma, mother, sister, aunt and friend.
Not only did Mona tend to the everyday responsibilities of raising seven children and maintaining a spotless house, but she also worked in her home as a seamstress for over 40 years. Whether it was inventing exquisite wedding gowns or a simple hem or alteration, she sewed a little bit of love into everything she created. Mona devoted her time in life to the things that were most important to her; among them; regularly connecting with her siblings and spending countless hours preparing for her annual family reunion back home. Family was always at the heart of it all.
An amazing source of experienced wisdom and trusted advice, keeper of secrets, and provider of countless belly laughs; Mona never wanted anyone to feel left out and was the true embodiment of love and goodness. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Mona was welcomed into heaven by her loving husband Ronald Chadwell, daughter Marilyn Chadwell, sons Ronald Chadwell Jr (Norma) and Scott Chadwell, sons-in-law, Dale Ruark and Thomas Herberger, and grandsons, Matthew Monroe and Shane Lyell. She is survived by her daughters, Pat Ruark, Debbie Monroe (Andy), Pam Herberger, Judy Kirstein (Ken), and daughter-in-law, Marlena Chadwell. Grandchildren, Stephanie Chadwell, Mark Chadwell, Brandon Chadwell, Melanie Monroe (Eric), Brad Lyell (Mary), Andrea Seymour, Jason Chadwell (Kaitlyn), and Tara Chadwell (Pete), twelve great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many other close friends that were always considered family by Mona.
