Eric Britcher Obituary
Family was Eric's delight! He is survived by his children, Curtis (Vicky), Cheryl, Dina (David), Bram (Thuy); grandchildren, Brandon (Kate), Elise (Eddie), Nathan (Amy), Hannah (Josiah), Eric (Laura), Meredith and Yen Nhi; and great grandchildren, Emerson, Everly, Callan, Stuart, Lola, Sebastian, Lyla, Raylan and Lillian.
Ministry was Eric's calling and his passion! He served as an ordained minister first with The Salvation Army for 40 years, followed by 30 years with Mayflower Congregational Church in East Grand Rapids, Michigan. Leading and nurturing people to know and love the Lord was the desire of his heart.
The family will receive friends at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home from 2:00 to 5:00 pm on Friday, January 9. A celebration of his Promotion to Glory will be held Saturday, January 10, at 2:00 pm at Mayflower Congregational Church, 2345 Robinson Road SE, East Grand Rapids.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in memory of Eric to Degage Ministries at www.degageministries.org. Degage, co-founded by Eric in 1967, offers hope and opportunity to those facing homelessness and poverty in Grand Rapids.

I met Eric, when I joined the Salvation Army Advisory Board in Grand Rapids. I attended a National Conference with him in Dallas, TX, and quickly discovered he was a "ROCK STAR". Everyone seemed to know him and was so happy to see him. I remember lots of hugs and prayers. I knew I had to get to know this guy! He welcomed me and was genuinely concerned about me and wanted me to be a successful board member. Always a smile, always an encouraging word, he was someone I always looked forward to seeing. I was always jealous of the men who had the honor of attending his Bible Studies. God took home an amazing man, I will never forget-my thoughts and prayers to the entire Britcher Family and Fan Club. See you in Heaven, Eric!

It is sad to learn of Eric´s passing. He touched so many lives and made the world a better place. I will be forever grateful for his foresight in establishing the Men´s Bible Study groups at Mayflower Congregational Church.
