Eric Vincent Darnell, 46, of Amarillo, TX, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026.
Eric was born on June 16, 1979, in Amarillo, TX, to Dorothy and Richard Darnell. Eric met the love of his life, Angelica, and they were married on October 19, 2005, in Amarillo, TX. Together, they had five children, listed from oldest to youngest: Marissa Torres, Ryan Torres, Ava Darnell, Pauline Darnell, and Derek Darnell.
Eric graduated from Caprock High School in Amarillo, TX, in 1997. After high school, he attended and graduated from DeVry University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications Management. He then obtained his Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix in 2007. After school, Eric worked hard for Angelica and all five kids his entire life, instilling many valuable life lessons in each of his children. During his free time, Eric loved watching football and baseball with his family and loved the Dallas Cowboys, New York Yankees, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and OU Sooners. His greatest joy was watching each of his kids succeed in school, sports, and work, and, most importantly, grow into young adults starting their own families and forming even stronger bonds with their siblings. Eric also loved cooking, golfing, fishing, and traveling the country with his friends and family.
Eric was preceded in death by his father, Richard Darnell. He is survived by his beloved wife, Angelica Darnell; two sons, Derek Darnell and Ryan Torres; wife Cassandra Torres; three daughters, Marissa Torres, husband Hilario Torres, Ava Darnell, and Pauline Darnell; mother, Dorothy Darnell; brother, Phillip Darnell; and several nieces and nephews.
