Eric Duane Gooding

Eric Duane Gooding, 44, of Macon, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly from an unknown heart condition on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. The family invites friends to join them for a time of visitation on Monday, October 14, 2024, at Fairhaven Funeral Home from 2:00 – 4:00 PM. Immediately following the visitation, the family will have a funeral service to honor his life in the chapel, beginning at 4:00 PM. Pastor Jerry Doriety will be officiating services.
Eric was born March 28, 1980, in Macon, Georgia, to Mr. Don Gooding and Mrs. Debbie (Donald) Whitby. Eric is described as selfless kindhearted man that adored his family, he was always there if you needed him. He was a man of many passions; he enjoyed hunting, traveling, Georgia football, classic cars, and especially grilling and smoking for his family. He was well known for having the best ribs and perfecting the art of the peanut butter and jelly sandwich. He had an infectious smile that would light up any room he entered. Above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his loving family. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother; Phillip (Sarah) Whitby, sister; Misty Gooding, niece; Ellie Whitby, nephew; Parker "Bubba" Whitby (who affectionately called him, Uncle Eicky), godchildren; Bella Hammontree, Abel Hammontree, Arthur "Juice" Brown, Tyler Austin, lifelong friends; Brandon and Lisa Hammontree, CJ Jackson, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
