Eric Don Harris, born on February 7, 1972, in Oklahoma City, and a cherished member of our community, passed away on September 5, 2025, in Austell. He dedicated an impressive 33 years to his career, during which he fostered relationships that felt more like family than colleagues. Res by all who knew him, Eric’s impact was profound, leaving a legacy that will be fondly remembered.
A man defined by his love for family, Eric took immense pride in being a devoted husband to Dana and a loving father to Savannah and Arlington. He shone brightly in both roles, demonstrating a wonderful ability to balance hard work with quality family time. Eric was known for his exceptional advice and unparalleled grilling skills, often bringing family and friends together with great meals and even greater stories.
In his pursuits, Eric had a passion for deer hunting and fishing, often relishing the quiet moments spent in nature. His enthusiasm for life was further highlighted in his love for the Georgia Bulldogs, where weekends became cherished gatherings filled with spirited cheers and camaraderie.
Those who knew Eric understand that he possessed a unique blend of intimidating presence softened by a heart of gold. He never spoke ill of others, instead choosing to uplift those around him. His warmth, keen sense of humor, and the values he instilled set an example for many.
Eric is survived by his beloved wife, Dana Harris; his children, Savannah (Zach Stone) and Arlington (Kalie Tidwell) Harris; and his mother, Joanne Freeny. He also leaves behind six nieces and nephews and ten great-nieces and nephews who will carry forward his legacy of love. He was preceded in death by his father, Don Harris, and his sister, Ryan Kettwig.
As we gather to honor Eric's memory, we invite friends and family to join us for a visitation on September 14, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory, located at 2480 Macland Rd SW, Marietta, GA 30064.
Eric’s spirit will forever be a part of our lives, woven into every loved moment and memory created with family and friends. His love is a gift that will endure in our hearts.
