Eric J. Horne, a cherished father, son, brother, and friend, passed away at the age of 41 on October 13, 2024, in Atlanta, Georgia. Born on March 18, 1983, in Germany. Eric lived a life marked by laughter, ingenuity, and an unquenchable thirst for adventure.
His legacy continues through his beloved children, Arica and Eric Horne, who were the center of his universe. Eric was a cherished son to his mother Debbie Hewett and her husband Wayne, and his father Reggie Horne. He was a protective and loving brother to his sisters, Shatika and Victoria Horne. Eric was also a beloved nephew and cousin, surrounded by a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss his presence deeply.
Educated at the Aviation Institute of Maintenance, Eric's intelligence and aptitude were immediately evident as he excelled in his studies. His passion for mechanics went far beyond the classroom; Eric was a wizard with machines, devoting countless hours to building cars. His hands were rarely clean but always skilled, and his creations were a source of pride and joy.
Eric's love for adventure often found him on the open road. Road trips were not just a hobby but a way of life, a means to explore, unwind, and make lasting memories. The tales of these journeys will be retold and cherished by his family and friends, keeping the spirit of his adventures alive.
Above all, Eric was a dedicated father. Spending time with his children was not just a pastime but a priority. Every moment he shared with them was filled with laughter, learning, and love. His role as a father was one he cherished deeply, and his guidance and humor will be their guiding light.
Those who had the pleasure of knowing Eric would describe him as funny, handy, and intelligent. His humor brought light into every room, and his ability to fix anything made him the go-to person in times of need. His intelligence was not just academic but also emotional, understanding people and making them feel heard and valued.
As we say goodbye to Eric J. Horne, we celebrate a life lived with passion and purpose. His memory will live on in the hearts and minds of those who loved him, in the projects he completed with his skilled hands, and in the laughter of his children. Eric's story is not one of sadness but of a life well-lived, filled with joy, love, and an abundance of memories that will continue to inspire and comfort us all.
In the days to come, let us remember Eric not with tears but with smiles, as he would have wanted. Let's honor his legacy by embracing life's journeys with the same enthusiasm and warmth that he did. Eric J. Horne, you will be profoundly missed, but your spirit will forever be a beacon of light in the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing you. Goodnight, Eric, and thank you for the joy you've given us.
