Eric W. I. Anglin, 56, passed away Friday, October 25, 2024 at IU Hospice House in Bloomington, Indiana.
He was born Saturday, November 11, 1967 to Richard Dale Anglin and the late Frances Irene (Pearson) Blair in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. When he was 2 years old the family moved to Centerville, Ohio. Eric had firm faith in God he was thankful to his Mom and Dad for raising him in the Catholic faith.
Eric spent time in both the Army and Air National Guards - both active and reserve duty. As Staff Sergeant, he received a commendation for his outstanding teamwork during a critical inspection. He was also employed by the Air National Guard at Rickenbacker AFB in Columbus, Ohio. While there, he earned his Bachelor's degree in English from the Ohio State University. He then obtained a Juris Doctorate law degree from the University of Dayton. He moved to the Indianapolis area and practiced law for a number of years before changing careers. He recently undertook the training to become a Day One Dealer at the new Terre Haute Casino Resort.
Eric also had a variety of passions/interests that drove him. He loved sports - beginning with playing competitive soccer in his youth, golf, running, fishing, hunting, and skiing. He was active until his cancer prevented him from exercising. He was an avid Buckeye fan. He loved dogs particularly miniature schnauzers. He loved to cook and he did a lot of "pallet" wood projects.
He is survived by his fiancée, Michelle Lacher and her children, Alyssa and Brevin; father and stepmother, Richard and Nina Anglin; brother, Rich (Sylvia) Anglin; sisters, Beth (Jerry) Hammond, Helen (Drew) Burgess, Debbie (Dave) Turckes, and Mimi (Billy) Combs; nephews Nate, Bill, Cameron, and Benny; niece Samantha; several great-nephews and a great-niece; and his best friend Dave George. We will all miss him greatly.
Eric was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Blair.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Martin of Tours on November 7, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held prior, starting at 9:00 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Martin of Tours Cemetery following Mass.
