SANTA FE - Eric Scott Johnston, 49, of Santa Fe, Texas, passed from this earth on March 11th at HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland Hospital from a massive coronary.
He was born on September 30, 1972 to James M. Johnston and Ruth M. Johnston at Galveston County Memorial hospital in Texas City, Texas.
Eric participated in multiple sports, including Santa Fe Braves Football, youth basketball and continued football throughout high school.
Eric attended College of the Mainland for business management technology.
Eric and LeeAnn Lyons welcomed their son, Eric Scott Johnston II in 1992.
Eric is survived by his son, Eric Scott Johnston II ; father, James Mark Johnston; brother Brian C. Johnston and his wife, Brenda Johnston; sister Rachel M. Johnston and her fiancé, Michael VanNess; nephews, Jordan A. Head, Eric Michael Johnston; nieces Cassidy I Head and her fiancé, Ian A. Montemayor, Brianna Johnston and lots of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Marie Johnston and niece, Raven Marie Johnston.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2022, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, with Pastor Paul Meiller officiating.
Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501.
