Erik Daniel Lakota was born on March 16, 1979 in Gordon, NE to Harriet Lakota and Willard Eagle Bear. Erik made his journey to the Spirit World on February 2, 2026 at his home near Pine Ridge, SD.

Erik is survived by his mother & step-father, Harriet & Chauncey White Face; son, Isiah Lakota; daughters, Fancy Lakota, Tia Yazzie, and Tasheena Good Plume; wife, Jolene Marshall-Lakota; sisters, Nikki, Audrey, AJ, Krystal, & Myannah Lakota, Amy, Leslie, & Amber Cortier, Cherish White Face, Jolita Morrison, and Tessa & Trinity Lakota; brother, Willis Lakota, Lester Shawn Cortier, Teton Lakota, Sr., Harry Lakota, and Lyndon Stone; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, & cousins.

Erik was preceded in death by his father, Willard Eagle Bear; grandparents, Harry & Pearl Lakota and Roy & Zona Morrison; sons, Daniel & Jeremiah Lakota; sisters, Jaime, Denise, & Imogene Fast Wolf; niece, Journey Joy White Pipe; nephews, Kyle Cortier, Michael Walking, Michael Ivan Fast Wolf, and Cody Cortier; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, & grandparents.
