Eric Dean Manier passed away, unexpectedly at the age of 52, in Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital on September 17, 2025. Eric, also known as "Big E", was born to Jerry Floyd Manier and Regina Young on July 8, 1973, in Springfield, MO.
In 1992, Eric graduated from Parkview High School and thereafter attended Job Corp, in Salt Lake City Utah, where he received an H-Vac Certificate. Though Eric's life was met with several challenges he was able to overcome, and later met Erica Cain, and they had two beautiful children, Elijah and Eniyah, whom he loved more than anything in this world. Eric was a fan of, and loved watching, the Kansas City Chiefs and the WWE. Eric was a good cook who took pride in his cooking, loved eating the great food he made, and enjoyed sharing good food with his family and loved ones.
Eric was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Floyd and Elvadean Manier and maternal grandparents Jay and Rudean Colson, father, Jerry F. Manier, mother, Regina Young, uncle, Mervin Young, and uncle, Jay Colson.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his son Elijah Dijon Manier and daughter Eniyah Alexis Manier, both of Kansas City, MO, whom he loved more than life itself. He also leaves to celebrate his memory, his step-mother, Victoria Manier, whom he affectionately referred to as "Mom", two sisters, Ktanya (David) Hill and Tasha Manier, both of Springfield, MO, one special uncle, Tony Colson, two special aunts, Judy Riley and Pauletta Allison, special cousin, Mervin Martin, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom loved him very much.
Services will be held at Greenlawn- North, 3506 N. National, Springfield, MO 65803, Thursday, September 25, 2025, visitation 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and funeral service directly following visitation.
His family has entrusted Greenlawn Funeral Home North with his care.
